The following is important information in regards to commencing your application to the Primary Reserve. It will help you be better prepared and will increase your chances of having a successful application.

This is a checklist of the documentation you will be required to bring before your file can be forwarded to a Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre (CFRC) for further processing:

  • Birth Certificate (or Canadian Citizenship)
  • SIN Card
  • Photo ID
  • High School Transcript
  • University/College Transcript (if applicable)
  • 3 x Letters of Reference (forms provided)
  • Employment Application Form (form provided)

After your file is complete with 11th Field Regiment, it is forwarded to CFRC Kitchener or Hamilton, depending on your home address, where you will write the Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT). Upon successful completion of the CFAT, you will undergo an interview with a Military Career Counselor, have a medical examination done and complete a Fitness test.

Employment Application Form Infoguide

When you have completed the Employment Application Form and collected all the required Supporting Documents listed below, you can hand deliver the Application Package to 11th Field Regiment RCA attention Recruiting.

Supporting Documents

  • Certified Official Academic Transcripts (high school and post secondary education, if applicable)
  • Proof of Canadian Citizenship (Birth Certificate or Canadian Citizenship Papers)
  • Social Insurance Number Card
  • Letters of Reference (template provided)

Notes on Completing the Employment Application Form

 Before filling out this form, make sure:

  • that you meet all eligibility requirements, including the requirements specific to the career(s) and the entry plan that interest you
  • that you know the difference between Regular Force (full time) and Reserves (part-time)

Do not hesitate to contact a recruiter if you require assistance in filling out this form. Do not leave any questions unanswered.

Please pay particular attention to the following points:

Section 1, Part B, Point 1, when asked if you are interested in joining the Regular Force or the Reserve, please choose RESERVE.

Section 1, Part B, Point 3:

When asked if you wish to join as an Officer or a Non-Commissioned Member, please choose ONLY ONE.

Choices: Choices 1,2 and 3 refer to the Officer (if that was your choice) or the Non-Commissioned Member (if that was your choice) military occupations you are interested in.

Military Occupation Codes (MOC) for 11th Field Regiment:

R22U – Artillery Officer

R78U – Logistics Officer (check to see if available)

R021 – Artillery NCM

R836 – Resource Management Support Clerk (check to see if available)

Please note that 11th Field is an Artillery Regiment and therefore, the MOC predominantly recruited for is Artillery (Officer and NCM). If you are interested in the Logistics Officer or RMS Clerk trades, please speak to the recruiter to determine availability.

Section 1, Part C: if you have served before, we will need to acquire your file in order to determine to what extent your training and experience can be taken into consideration.
